Sometimes, backing up data manually can be a chore and if your definition of backing up files is to copy them to another folder, then you are not doing a very good job. Anything that results in hard drive failure can render your local backups useless, which is why storing backups on another device or on the cloud would be a more sensible course of action. With SafeCopy's smart and fully automated capabilities, your data will be kept safe on the cloud at all times, in any situation. The best part is that it requires very little user intervention. All you have to do is point it to one or more folders and the application will take care of the rest for you.

The application itself is free and you can have 3 GB of free storage space, but you have to pay an yearly subscription if you want more. Installing SafeCopy does not involve any complex configurations, so you may complete the operation in under a minute. Also, you don't have to sacrifice too many resources or install any prerequisite tools.

As previously suggested, configuring SafeCopy does not involve anything more than choosing what data to back up. Its user interface consists of three tabs, on which you can log into your account and buy more storage space, target your local folders and view the application's status. When targeting data, you can let the application back up everything in the Library folders or choose specific folders yourself. Additionally, you can access a series of advanced options, on the same tab, if you wish to set a higher or lower backup speed or size limit. It is also possible to set the application to back up your data on a daily or weekly basis, at a specific hour, rather than continuously.

Once you are done selecting your folders, the application will start uploading their contents right away. Whenever you store new files in one of these folders, SafeCopy will upload them automatically, without any user input. The same will happen when you modify an existing file. Furthermore, all versions of the same file are stored safely in the cloud and you can choose which one to restore.

Another useful feature is the possibility of sharing uploaded files, via direct link, by simply dragging and dropping one or more files over the user interface. Backed up files can be managed on a web interface, on any browser. The files are stored in the same folders structure and they are also sorted by uploaded date, favorites and shared items. What's more, pictures are organized automatically by year, in their own category. While browsing through your files, you can select them and use the available controls, on the web interface, to view, download or delete them, share the files or view their previous versions.

Pros

Files are uploaded automatically, when you store them in a targeted folder or when you modify them. The application allows you to choose which version of a file to restore. Also, you can manage and share your backed up files from a web-based user interface.

Cons

There are no obvious issues to address. Rather than bothering with backups, you can focus on your important tasks and let SafeCopy back up everything, without asking you for anything.
